this is one of my ways to overcome shyness maybe you are going to think that i’m crazy but i don`t care and that is what you need to do don`t care about anything now you have to think that you are going to die in a few hours and you can do whatever you want because you gonna die and nobody is going to judge you so think about it and try to be dare

Hey, that’s okay. There are others ways to overcome shyness. These are just from my experience.

Those are really good ideas :-) . I’m beginning to think that I might have some form of Avoidant Personality Disorder because some of the criteria fit me.

I have always been deemed as being “shy” by friends and family, though the reasons for my “shyness” are 1.) I feel like I’m being judged constantly by others; 2.) I feel like if someone got to know me, they might decide that I’m too boring for them (something I’m slowly getting over); etc.

Are there any good books on APD?

It all comes down to practicing your social skills. The first dozen of times it feels really awkward. Walking up to someone, introductions / starting a conversation, looking the people you talk to in the eye, keeping the conversation going etc. However,if you start small and do it regularly, the fear gradually lessens. You get better at talking to people and you no longer have to worry about what you are going to say. After a while, it starts feeling natural.

I’m sure this is not gonna work for me
here if you say hello to someone
someone might show his middle finger to you
cuz i tried, so i decided before they show their mid finger to me, i show mine to them

As a shy person myself i find your 1st recommendation a little daunting, but the 2nd and 3rd ones more easily achieved also instilling self-belief and becoming more assertive is the key to overcoming it,thanks for the video though.

I love each and every one of your videos. It helps me feel secure about my anxiety and helps me realize I’m not the only one suffering. I’m not entirely alone. Thank you. Please don’t feel discouraged to continue creating more videos in relation to anxiety. I love these, so feel encouraged! Keep up the fantastic work!

I also love how slow the words are layed out. It causes one to really process the message. That was probably unintentional, but I found that pretty cool.

ANNUAL SHYNESS CONVENTION: NO ONE TURNED UP! THEY WERE TOO SOCIALLY ANXIOUS…I’M A VERY shy guy 37 years old, get a fair amount of women interested in me because i ‘act’ well and am pretty good looking..however, i never realise these opportunities, or rather do so very rarely..it’ s a bitch as after all these yrs I still go blank and cant think what to say and do…lifes torture for the seriously shy guy…

Good advice! Me being a fairly shy guy and stuggling to come out of my shell I’ll be sure to follow this. =). Being shy is no way to live..

  22. Lisa3679 says:

I am shy AND introverted. I am not too willing to open up, since I don’t feel comfortable around most people . . . don’t trust them. I only know a few people, but don’t spend time with them. Join a social group? Are you kidding?
