i feel like this video is saying its ok to be fat. if you want to be fat that’s your choice but im a woman who is confident in her size after gymming regularly and its no more heart tremors for me from now on.
its not saying its okay to be fat. its promoting “fat free talk”. You know, all the girls who are perfectly healthy who are always saying “oh i’m too fat” blah blah blah and so on. Its important to be healthy, tahs what its saying.
Then shouldn’t that indicate that the current mode of obsessing with weight & the approach taken is NOT working?
This video isn’t about being fat, fat acceptance or even weight really…it’s about the mental and emotional toll this obsession in our society is taking on (mostly) our young women.
Maybe you need to watch a few more times. NO WHERE does the video say it’s good or ok to be fat. You are twisting what is there to suit & support your own fear.
you are deluded. and probably fit.
This video is brilliant. The music is confident and optomistic. It is encouraging what it’s preaching. I love it! I am a skinny man and yet feel empathy for that larger lady. It’s more to do with interaction than one’s own body image. Let’s face it, no-one is totally happy with their own image. I retract my last post, it was awfull. Soz
Its sad that we are like this. I’m only 13 and already every single one of my friends has been on a diet. I’ve also had 2 friends almost become anorexic & another that did. Some of these statistics are just ridiculous. Its truely sad we are like this.
men are only supposed to like women if theyre “thin”.
its a mans world. men control everything. its not fair. boyfriends dump girlfriends for looks. girls want to impress boys and men by being thinner. its just not right. END FAT TALK.
Funny that this was posted by a sorority.
Where I went to school, girls were not bid on because they were overweight and it would reflect badly on the sorority. Tri Delt was one of the sororities best known for judging girls on their weight and looks.
I’m all for the message, but not at the expense of hypocriticism.
It IS okay to be fat.
I KNOW OMG SHOCKING.
How can hypocrisy devalue the message?
How can it not devalue the message? It’s just like the fashion mags having articles on “love yourself at any size” yet exclusively featuring anorexic stick models in their editorials. It’s called “Practice what you preach.”
Stop eating ice cream when you get emotional. That would be a start. Better mental health women!
how the fuck is “you look great”, fat talk?
the phrase in the video was “You look great, have you lost weight?”
Its is just implying that you did not look good before. Its a tricky one but still counts as not having a positive influence on body image.
But it is not fair to generalize either, not all TriDelta sororities will keep you off a bid list because of your size. And really its not about DDD at ALL, its about women and US making a change. DDD is just using it money to sponsor this program because they want women to feel empowered and great about themselves
But dont give up! take this fat free talk to your friends, be their example! Tell them how great they are and never refer to anything physical. YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
really nice work both with the subject and the video itself. just one question, what software did you use for this?
i love this.
i love this.

why dont people underSTAND?
I used to wonder(I used to wonder) why people don’t believe in theyselves
But then I saw the way they portrayed us to everyone else
They cursed us, to only see the worst in ourselves
blind to the fact the whole time we were hurting ourselves
-Immortal Technique
I agree; it’s a problem, but it’s more like the branches of the problem. Let us strike the root.
Amazing video–and it was all words and music!!
Very very nice work. A definite favorite for me.
i dont know about you guys, but i dont wanna be fat either
I dont know about you
but I dont want to be unhappy about how I look
i dont want to think about calories all the time nor to eat because I cant bear my feelings
i want to eat naturally because I am hungry and because I want to satisfy myself, no remorse, no preoccupation, no guilt
I want to be loved for who I am
not because I resemble someone else
on tv or a magazine
I dont know about you but I want to be deeply appreciated, respected and loved
There is such thing as too fat, its real and you should be embarrassed if your fat. Anyone whos never been fat can’t understand.
